It is auspicious to use copper lota that is also known as Kalash for hawans, worshiping, and offering water to the sun or moon on special days or festivals such as Karva Chauth, Ahoi Ashtami, and tulsi Vivah among many others. It can also be used to establish raw coconut during Navratri Poojan or Diwali Puja and several other festivals and fasts. A Kalash is a bowl that is used during rituals. It's heavy at its base, made of copper, and has been used traditionally during puja ceremonies. An altar is a place of worship, reflection, and devotion.
